Panem is a country divided into 12 districts and the Capitol, this story is situated in the future where the districts provides everything to the Capitol, food, security and other sort of things but nothing for them.
74 years before of the actual Panem, there were 13 districts, the 13rd district provided the nuclear weapons and all the technology to the Capitol, Someday the 13rd districts started to fight against the capitol for the selfish way of the president to treat them, the capitol In a way to demonstrate that the Capitol always win they destroyed the 13rd district, after that they created a game in a way to show his power, All the boys and girls of the districts at their 11th birthday enter in a selection, one boy and one girl of all the district has to fight to death, there will be only a winner, and him or her and their family will have all their necessities covered.
The things start to change at the 74th Hunger games, with Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark like the selected guys in the district 12.
